What is Star Delights?

Star Delights is website that was designed by my daughter and I. We talked about the creation of it over a long period of time before we realized that we both needed to get this set up! It has become a passion for both of us.

It has a just enough programming for me - but not too much! Let me explain what I mean...

I was always interested in programming to some degree, but it was more or less a hobby. I played around with a lot of different programming languages and learned enough to do a little here and there.

The only problem was that I was working production which is so far away from programming that it was unreal, but I still kept playing! I would learn all the new languages that would come out and I thought that I would make a career out of it. What stopped me from going into that career as a programmer was this...

I was working on a program for months, when all of a sudden I ran into a snag! I searched and searched and searched for weeks but it still would come up with an error! Finally, I found it... I had put a colon instead of a semi-colon - I changed it to what it was supposed to be and saved the program and put it away and never went back to it seriously since!

Then this opportunity for internet came up and I was thrilled that it involved programming plus a Lot more! It has just enough programming to keep me happy but not enough to drive me crazy!

I knew then that this is the place where I can make things happen and finally do something that I enjoy and get paid for it - how cool is that?

My daughter started a home internet business called Podcast Designs. She began working with graphics, web designs and many other aspects. I'm a little bias, but she's really talented. However, Working with all the different types of Graphics that she had created became a Big chore!

I started working on websites back in 2001 - selling e-books and found that I had a lot to learned about the internet and how things worked. Then I took a break for a couple of years. I started up again with another deal to sell another program that didn't go so well - I made a lot of other people rich on that one - it seemed that I was missing some good points that would turn the profits my way!

I took another break - I found another deal that had some interesting stuff to sell online - so I talked to my daughter about setting up a website for me - that was the beginning of Star Delights. I did my best to sell as much as I could - the only thing was that it was very hard to do for two reasons - One, because I still didn't have the right knowledge of how to get traffic to my website - Two, because I would find the same products for sale on eBay for less than I could buy them.

So that went by the way side for a while - So again I talked to my daughter about setting up something else that would work - we put our heads together and came up with Graphics and Photos - she had tons of them that she was having trouble managing. We then transferred all her graphics to my website - I wrote the pages and did the setup so that it was formatted correctly - and she had some friends that were photographers - so we added those pictures - plus I had some of my own - so that was the New beginning of Star Delights.

The website was all setup and ready to go. The one thing that still was haunting me was how to get traffic to my website now that it was all setup! At first I tried a few things that didn't work so well - so I tried another deal and that didn't work out so well either. I was stumped!

What does it take to get traffic to your site?

Finally I sat down at the computer and researched and researched and researched some more! I found site after site that sounded pretty good but sounded like it would end up in another deal that just made everybody else rich!

There had to be a solution that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg and would teach me how to get traffic to my site and the knowledge that I needed to keep it going! So, I kept looking and looking, until one day I found this link - that looked pretty good - I read the entire page - and my first thought was "Maybe this is the one that I need" - I bookmarked the page and went back and read it two times before I finally said "This sounds like exactly what I need - they have the tools that I need plus the training that will show me how to use it! So I bought the program...

I've increased my traffic to my site by 10 times and I've only just begun the program! It shows you how to do things even if you don't have your own site now.

Conversions: what are they?  It's one thing to have traffic to you site, but it's another to get those people that want to purchase what you're selling.  People search the internet every day for many things and if you can fulfill that search and make money on the deal it's what they call a win-win situation.  You get what you want and they get what they want.

Win-Win Situation

My daughter and I got looking at the site and decided to make some changes to our site...  Well, actually they're still in progress!

Some was for looks and some of it was for focus. We decided that maybe we should just provide Graphics. That way we could focus on the one aspect and make that the best we could.

It's so hard to decide what is best to do - but a saying comes to mind - "Do one thing and do it well" and another one - "Be the best at what you do" and one more - "Focus on your Goals"!
